That's the consensus around here. Oh dear. How do I do this? Any homeschoolers out there who have done the taboo thing; the thing that shall not be named? The THING that other homeschoolers gasp over? Yes, I've put my older two in school, the best school I could find (ish).
YES. Say it slowly. Now breathe! You're OK. Yes? Now, keep reading. You're alright now.
Everything's fine.
After much deliberation, they are in the 3rd and 6th grade respectively, and according to them, regrettably so. They (mostly Keegan) "Hate hate hate hate school!" I'm thinking this is just a transition and it will all settle out. Not so much "thinking" as hoping, clinging to so that I can sleep at night kind of "thinking." Needless to say, it's not going well. My major complaint is how much it cuts into our family life! Seriously! They come home from school, exhausted, and it's a race to the end between homework & dinner! Where's our downtime? Our family time? I'm considering sending Daniel with a big pile of socks tomorrow & a note that reads--oh, and read with an English accent, it sounds better:
Dear Mrs. Bell,
As you know, Daniel has evening chores after school. He was unable to fulfill his obligations, so he must match socks while at school today. Do see that he separates Liam's pile from Keegans. He does always seem to skip that step. Thank you in advance!
Best Regards,
earthmama

First - that poll? Well, saying "shitake" is just a form of manipulation of you. Don't allow it, sister!
And as far as school sucking, try to think about why you sent them to school in the first place. If it's because they asked to go, then try to just remind them of that when they belly ache about it. If its for other reasons, maybe wait a little longer to see if those reasons prove themselves to be true or false. Good Luck! from a traditional schooler.
i'm sorry. glad your hoping. move to Colorado, they would not have homework ;) ---at least Keegie--
You know
if the sock thing works, would you let us know?
cause i am darn tired of the homework that is less than intelligent
and the insanely long days that seem to be full of " and you should have seen what bully A did, and then what bully b did..."
I'de much rather have peanut sorting socks.
